The New Truth In Management (cont.)

Companies that have implemented coaching programs have seen immediate results with issues such as employee performance. They have also found indirect benefits such as better employee-employer relationships and overall increased team cooperation.

Coaching enables corporations to:

  1. Transform average players into visionaries. New players need mentoring to become better. Even gifted players need support, guidance and inspiration to reach for the gold.
  2. Focus on rapid resolutions. Conflicts are always going to be present no matter what you do. People have strong beliefs and strong egos that need to be fed. Coaching provides preventive medicine that resolves conflicts before they worsen.
  3. Discover hidden talents. Unlock the potential of each one of your team players. The hidden talents your employees have may very well surprise you. You might already have all the talent you need to accomplish your goals without hiring additional personnel.
  4. Provide stable and fixed change. Most corporations have implemented some time of training program in the past. You might have found these to be excellent programs that motivated employees and delivered temporary results. But without continual feedback on what was implemented the program most likely dwindled… employees returning to their previous ways. Coaching provides the follow-up needed to ensure the productive changes continue on a regular basis.
  5. Nourish entrepreneurship. People support what they help create. Nothing is more important than fostering a spirit of ownership among your team. Your people can think out of the box, take risks and try new things. Coaching can help you discover what makes them reach higher and strive for excellence.
  6. Empower people. When people are allowed to use their best judgment they reach for the gold. They are more willing to extend beyond their comfort zone. They feel more needed and valued. These traits are what build leaders.
  7. Eliminate time wasters. A coach can help you identify what is holding employees back. Even the best- empowered employees can miss a lot of opportunities simply because their schedules are full. Eliminating time wasters can provide added time to attend to more important tasks.

Coaching works because it enables everyone to speak the same language. Employees feel valued and employers get to enjoy the maximum of their potential. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to know your employees are not simply focused on getting a paycheck, but also on searching for new opportunities to help the company grow? What a difference it would make to work in a corporation filled with inspired team members that want to excel.
